MBACP, BSc Hons Business Management, PGDip Integrative Counselling and Coaching. MSc Integrative Counselling and Coaching.
A highly- qualified Counsellor and Coach, Rabia has extensive experience in working with domestic violence victims, before going on to manage a counselling service working with Refugees and Asylum seekers. She now works in bereavement care, with a specific focus on stillbirth and neo-natal death. Rabia speaks fluent English, Urdu, and Punjabi.
Background
Rabia is an integrative counsellor and coach and has experience working with a wide range of clients since qualifying. Her first degree was in Business Management and she has a background of management roles within the charity sector; particularly in the Muslim community. After noticing the huge stigma surrounding mental health within the Muslim community and the lack of representation in mainstream counselling services, Rabia decided to return to University, where she completed a PG Diploma and consequent master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and Coaching. Her dissertation for her MSc explored young British Muslims perceptions of therapy services.
Beliefs
Rabia is passionate about working within underrepresented communities and removing the stigma associated with mental health and the barriers to accessing therapy services. Rabia is very client led and believes in providing a safe, comfortable, and non-judgemental space for her clients to explore their thoughts and feelings in a way that feels most comfortable to them. Rabia’s modality of integrative counselling and coaching helps clients to not only focus on achieving internal harmonisation, but also supports them as they make external changes.
