Mindfulness is a process which helps us to pay attention to, and see more clearly, what is happening in our lives. Whilst it does not eliminate life’s pressures, it can help us to deal with them in a calmer and more helpful manner. Becoming more aware of the present moment can help us enjoy the world around us more and understand ourselves better. 

The benefits of mindfulness include reductions in stress and improvements in our mental state. It can lead to a greater peace of mind, more productivity at work and better sleep; overall it can lead to a sense of feeling happier within oneself and having better relationships with others. 


In this one day course, you will learn:


  • A better understanding of the theory and practical application of Mindfulness at work.
  • How to improve attention and concentration.
  • Tools and strategies to increase your clarity, focus and concentration.
  • How to limit the effects of work-related stress, and to remain focussed and calm with challenging situations.
  • How to respond to difficult states of mind such as worry and lack of confidence in oneself.
  • How to use mindfulness to reduce conflict between staff members, and improve communication skills and cohesion of the team.

Mental Health Awareness

Growing research demonstrates the importance of mental health and wellbeing in relation to our performance and effectiveness at work. There are clear links between our physical and mental health that further supports the case for protecting mental health and wellbeing at work too. Poor mental health is associated with an increased risk of diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes, while good mental health is a known protective factor.   • Gain a deeper understanding of mental health in today’s society.
  • Deepen your understanding of the issues that impact on and relate to people’s mental health.

Resilience-Managing Energy

  

Resilience is the ability to recover and bounce back from adversity and hardships, feeling stronger and more able to cope. Resilient people demonstrate greater flexibility, more energy, mental agility and ability to perform better. They tend to have better relationships and support networks, which help them in times of need.

Although resilience is partly about your personality, there are also skills which can be learnt to help you boost your ability to cope and forge ahead stronger and clearer. Our resilience training aims to help you and your colleagues/ employees develop these skills.


This one day course will help you to learn and understand: 


  • What resilience is and how it affects your life, your team and your working environment.
  • Team dynamics and why we behave as we do.
  • How we change under pressure. 
  • How to recognise your strengths and how you can use these to build resilience.
  • The importance of respecting differences and how to minimise conflict.
  • How to set and maintain your own emotional boundaries
  • Create a self-care plan which will allow you to constantly build upon your own emotional resources. 

Addictions Awareness

Addictions may be to alcohol, drugs, (street or prescription), work, gambling, gaming, shoping, sex or a host of others behavioural problems. Whilst there is still debate about whether it is a disease or not, it is true to say that it causes immense distress for thousands of people in the UK alone. Precipitating factors include; pressures at work, feelings of inadequacy and low-self-esteem, difficulties at home, and a troubled past or upbringing. The effect on the suffering individual is undoubtedly great, and will most likely have a severely detrimental impact upon their work performance and relationsips.

Managing Difficult People/ Conflict Resolution
